Our infant class is so much fun! We focus on small group sizes to ensure all of the childrens needs are being met. With so much development happening in this short period of time, we often work one on one with each child on the skills they need help mastering! Tummy time, sensory experiences, social/emotional exercises, etc.
Our Toddler One class focuses heavily on social/emotional skills and regulating any big feelings we might have. We explore the outdoors and try brief periods of small group activities to encourage children to focus on completing tasks. Additionally, all students in this classroom will be offered experiences to learn through art, parallel play, sensory, music, storytelling, and gross motor play. English, basic Spanish, and sign language is used in all of our classrooms to encourage multiple types of communication. Our toddler classroom will follow weekly/monthly themes and strive to prepare the children for the next class.
Toddlers in this class will learn through art, play, science, outdoor experiences, fine motor activities, music, storytelling, gross motor play, and much more! English, basic Spanish, and sign language will continue to be introduced in our Toddler Two classroom to encourage multiple types of communication. Our toddler classroom will follow weekly/monthly themes and strive to prepare the children for preschool. Additionally, this class will work heavily on independence in the bathroom in order to get each child potty trained before heading to Preschool One. While it is NOT a requirement to be potty trained fully for our Preschool One class, it is required that the child be in pull-ups and willing to use the restroom with assistance/reminders. If your child is not at this point yet or parents are not g to work at home with their children, they will be required to stay in our Toddler Two classroom at the toddler rate of pay.
Our Preschool One classroom is such a joy to work with. There are so many personalities mixed together! Our classroom time becomes a lot more structured. Science skills, writing, basic math, shapes, letter/number recognition, and much more become a staple in this classroom. Along with a lot of super fun hands on experiments and projects for the kids that correlate with their current lessons and themes they rotate throughout the school year!
Our school age program is typically small during the school year, this allows us to bus children to and from our local BG City schools! During the Summer our school age program opens up to about 30 spaces for kids eligible for Kindergarten to 5th grade! Our school goes on multiple field trips each week. Including but not limited to the BG City Pool, Wood County Library, The Toledo Zoo, Sky Zone, Sundae Station, local parks, movie theaters, Almar Lanes, etc. We have an absolute blast every year! Be sure to grab your spot for Summer quickly though because they fill up fast. We offer Before & After School care and Summer care. If your child is already enrolled in before & after school care, they are able to come to Silver Kid's on public school closings/delays. (Summer Program kiddos that only attend for Summer break must call first for closings/delays to ensure there is room for drop in attendance that day for their kiddo!)
Our preschool will follow a weekly lesson plan that will provide kindergarten readiness. Dramatic play, music, dance, art, math, reading, and science are a few key focus points for our preschoolers. Sign language and Spanish will still be encouraged through this class.
Our Begindergarten class is structured like a Kindergarten class is! We follow a list from the local city schools that tell us what Kindergarteners are required to know by the end of the school year. We then start to introduce those topics! Beginning reading, sight words, letter sounds, vowels, math, literacy skills, etc. While these may be a bit complex, we will break them down and give them the tools to know all of the basics. That way, when heading into Kindergarten the following year, they will have already been exposed to what they will be learning! The classroom will still follow a fun weekly/monthly theme, as well as go on small field trips throughout the school year.
We offer a full time position which allows your child to attend Monday-Friday. We also offer part time positions as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Fridays OR Tuesday, Thursdays. *Part time spots are limited and not always available*
If school closes for the day, you will be charged the difference for the full day rate. This will be reflected on your next invoice.
Monthly Bus Fee: $25
There is NO bus fee during the Summer months but you will be charged for all of the field trips that we go on. You will be given a Summer calendar to plan ahead as best as you can!
You will receive all initial forms upon enrollment, these are just extra in case you need to update one in the future!
